Meet the Jurors
Three jurors have been selected to fulfill our jurors’ criteria. They are respected arts professionals and between them are familiar with a large cross-section of working mediums and styles.Jeffrey Spalding - President, Royal Canadian Academy of Arts
Artist, educator, writer and art museum professional. The breadth of Jeffrey’s arts experience is extensive. Director and Chief Curator of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia; educator at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design; York University; The Banff Centre; and The University of Lethbridge, Alberta. Served on the jury to select the 2005 Governor General’s Awards for Visual and Media Arts.

John Luna - Painter, Writer, Curator, Instructor VISA and UVic
Artist, writer and instructor. John has exhibited installations of paintings in connection to poetry, video, sculpture and historical artifacts in Canada and the U.S. He has published catalogue essays and criticism in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto. John has taught at the Vancouver Island School of Art, UVic, the University of Lethbridge, the University of Calgary, The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, The Victoria College of Art, Camosun College. He is chair of the Slide Room Gallery at AGGV.

Diane Farris - Owner, Diane Farris Gallery, Vancouver
Founded in 1984, the Gallery is an internationally recognized showcase for contemporary Canadian and international art, especially noted for finding and establishing new talent. The gallery serves the corporate and private collecting sector. The Gallery is located in the heart of Vancouver’s “South Granville Gallery Row”.
