Artists' Celebration Evening Friday July 25th 7:30 - 10:00 pm
A special event for invited guests including sponsors and artists. A night of celebrating with awards presentations and the music of Lust Life. Lust Life has been a staple of the Victoria BC and Vancouver Island music community over the past decade. Fun for the whole family! Come join us on a treasure hunt throughout the gallery! If you can find all the images in the artwork, you’ll get a prize at the end. Children under 12 are free. Please be accompanied by an adult!

Thursday July 31st from 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Join your sponsorship hosts for a complimentary glass of wine and tastings from many local restaurants. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and dessert bites, then peruse the aisles for that perfect piece of art and listen to the exciting sounds and rhythms of Karel Roessingh playing jazz and improv piano.

Ballroom Dancing: Saturday August 2nd from 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Dance to the sounds of the all-girl 10 piece band Wine and Roses.

The Artist in Attendance Program is a newly expanded part of the program for Sooke Fine Arts. Various artists working in a wide range from traditional to experimental art forms will be on site to demonstrate their skills and expertise. Visitors will be encouraged to meet the artists, explore art with a hands on learning experience and get in touch with their creative side. See Printable Schedule.

Thursday, July 24, Purchaser’s Preview Night:

Friday, July 25, Artist's Celebration Evening:
Lust Life is one of Victoria's best known jazz groups, playing jazz, party music, dixieland, funk, latin and swing. Sultry vocals, infectious grooves, and original improvisations create an exciting new concept in modern jazz. Lust Life will perform at the Artist's Celebration Evening from 7:30 - 10:00pm. www.LustLife.ca

2008 Show Music Schedule

Art Raffle

Three original works of art will be raffled off during the 2008 show. Tickets are available only at the show for $2 each, or 3 for $5. Drawings for the winning tickets will take place at the close of the show on August 4th.

Silent Auction

The silent auction will work a bit differently this year. First, there are three larger works available for bid during the entire run of the show.

To make more art available to both visitors and locals, a different, smaller piece will be auctioned every day. For the daily auction, secret bidding closes at 8pm each day and the winning bid will be announced at that time. Art for this part of the auction has been donated by ten island artists.

All auction bidding will be by secret bid, and show visitors may enter as many bids as they desire at the show. In case of a tied winning bid, a blind draw of the winning bid entries will determine the final winner.

The three, ten-day auction pieces will be awarded at the close of the show on August 4th. This year, the show will be offering shipping arrangements, so even tourists from far away can win and easily arrange for their prizes to be shipped home.
